Instructions

  1. Mix the Base Ingredients: In a bowl, combine the peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, and powdered sugar. Stir until the mixture is smooth and well-blended.
  2. Incorporate the Nuts: Add the salted mixed nuts to the peanut butter mixture. Stir until the nuts are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.
  3. Prepare the Baking Dish: Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper for easy removal. Press the mixture into the dish, spreading it evenly to ensure uniform thickness.
  4. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in the microwave. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until fully melted and smooth.
  5. Create the Chocolate Layer: Pour the melted chocolate over the nut mixture in the baking dish. Use a spatula to spread it evenly across the surface.
  6. Chill and Set: Place the baking dish in the refrigerator for about 1 hour, or until the chocolate is set and the bars are firm.
